LAW AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLINIC

January 28th, 2022, the University of Wisconsin's Law School's Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic will be hosting an event for small businesses. This event will include a one-hour presentation by Attorney Jeff Glazer at 12 pm via Zoom on common legal issues affecting startups. The presentation will include a discussion on the differences between an LLC and a Corporation and provide information on trademarks, copyrights, and patents. Questions are encouraged!

GLOBAL TRADE OPPORTUNITY

PLENTIFUL, DIVERSE TRADE OPPORTUNITIES AWAIT IN CANADA

Wisconsin enjoys a strong bilateral trade relationship with Canada—one that provides abundant opportunities for Wisconsin companies to expand their exports. To help build that relationship and grow Wisconsin’s international trade, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) will lead a trade venture to Toronto and Montreal from March 20-25, 2022.

WISCONSIN NEWS

New Investment In Statewide Meat Talent Development. Gov. Tony Evers today, together with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP), announced up to $5 million in meat talent development assistance. This funding will be used to attract and provide financial support to students in Wisconsin meat processing training programs, as well as support program development and connect the meat processing industry with potential employees.

GRANTS STILL AVAILABLE

Main Street Bounceback Grants are still available.The goal of the Main Street Bounceback Grants program is to provide financial support to businesses that move into existing vacant commercial properties, helping to create a foundation for long-term success for themselves and their communities.

Bayfield County Micro-enterprise business grants are still available. Grants of up to $10,000 are available to small business owners (Microenterprise) and up to $5,000 to homeowners/renters. Must meet qualifications including low-to-moderate income criteria.

BUSINESS PARK HIGHLIGHT

The Bayfield County Business Park is located a few miles west of the City of Ashland, with the northern boarder being just off US Hwy 2 at State Farm Road. The southern boarder of the park is at the intersection of US Hwy 137 and State Farm Road. The Park is approx. 160 acres total. Minus the occupied sites, 123 acres are buildable. 30 acres currently zoned Commercial, (gigabit+) fiber optic infrastructure on site, natural gas is on site, plus 3 Phase electric on site.
